Lazar Šćepanović was elected today at the electronic session of the Government of Montenegro as Acting (acting) Director of the Police Directorate (PD) for another term.
According to Vijesti, Šćepanović did not receive the support of ministers from the Democratic People's Party (DNP), New Serbian Democracy (NSD), as well as Minister Vladimir Joković from the Socialist People's Party (SNP), Minister Niko Đeljošaj from the Albanian Forum, and Minister Maraš Dukaj, also from the Albanian Forum.
After the session concluded, all ministers who did not support him during the session voted for Šćepanović, except for the ministers from the DNP - Maja Vukićević and Milun Zogović.
The government officially announced that the current acting director of the Public Administration, Lazar Šćepanović, has been re-elected to that position.
They said that the decision was made today in a telephone session.
"The government accepted the proposal of the Minister of Internal Affairs and adopted a decision appointing Šćepanović as acting police director, until the appointment of the director of the Police Directorate in accordance with the law, and for a maximum of six months," the statement said.
On December 16, the government unanimously appointed Šćepanović as acting director of the Police Department for a six-month term at an electronic session.
Until then, he held the position of Acting Assistant Director of the Police Department for the Crime Prevention Sector.
He was nominated for that position by the Minister of the Interior, Danilo Šaranović.
