Former police official and former director of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS), Miljan Perović, said that he never organized, coordinated, or was in any other way connected to the "so-called 'black three' affair."
He spoke to "Vijesti" after former police special agent Brajuško Brajušković repeated the accusations against him before the parliamentary Inquiry Committee earlier today.
Perović announced that he will protect his personal and professional integrity before the competent judicial institutions.
We transmit the response in full:
"I have never organized, coordinated, or in any other way been connected to the so-called 'black three' affair."
I would like to once again clearly, publicly and unequivocally deny all the lies linking my name to the affair known as the 'black threesome'.
Under full criminal and material responsibility, I claim that I have nothing to do with the aforementioned affair.
I would like to remind you again that immediately after the scandal was launched, in August 2013, I submitted written initiatives to the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Department, where, in addition to resolutely denying any connection with the stated untruths, I expressed the need for the competent authorities to act as urgently as possible, to shed light on this subterfuge, and to be willing to undergo a polygraph test. I gave a statement on this matter before the competent judicial authorities.
Hateful individuals, some of them well-informed, and for reasons known to them and to me, are trying to discredit me as a man who tried to carry out all his duties in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Montenegro.
My reaction is not intended to convince individual initiators of the formation of the committee, because truth as an axiom has currently lost all meaning, but rather is primarily motivated by a desire to protect my own image and dignity, that of my family, for the sake of the public, friends and colleagues with whom I have worked for many years.
I want to emphasize that I have deep empathy for all people who have suffered any injustice. I believe that justice is the foundation of every society and that all citizens deserve equal protection of their rights and freedoms.
In my opinion, behind such shameless attacks lies a pure political agenda of revenge. As a man who has held important positions, I believe that the goal of these attacks is to present all institutions as criminal, thereby undermining the trust of citizens in the system and institutions of the state, as well as in the state itself.
I will consider the untruths coming from anyone, and the placing of my name in a negative context, which is being considered by the Inquiry Committee, as the most shameless slander.
"I will protect my personal and professional integrity before the competent judicial institutions of Montenegro, which the public will be informed about very soon," Perović stated.
