Berane police arrested JB (28) for driving under the influence of drugs, the Police Directorate said.
It is alleged that the Berane police controlled a Mercedes passenger vehicle with Kolašin license plates and JB, who was driving it, as well as MR (52), who was with him in the vehicle.
"The driver JB tested positive for the presence of psychoactive substances in his body and he was arrested," the statement said.
It is added that upon further control and inspection of the vehicle, police officers found two pieces of 7,65 millimeter ammunition and informed the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane about the incident.
"The prosecutor ordered that the ammunition be sent for appropriate expert examination, and that criminal charges be filed against JB on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives," the police statement added.
They stated that during the search of MB, the police found 39 different pills from the list of opiates in the bag he was carrying, which was reported to the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje.
As it is added, the prosecutor stated that MB's actions do not constitute elements of a criminal offense, but rather that it is a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
It is stated that a misdemeanor charge will be filed against MB.
