By order of the prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Kotor, criminal charges were filed against PK (65) from Tivćan on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of inducing the certification of false content and the criminal offense of forging documents.
It is suspected that PK committed the criminal offense of forgery by using license plates from another vehicle on the vehicle he had a traffic accident with, the Police Directorate announced.
"An accident with material damage that occurred on the Njeguši - Trojica road was reported to the officers of the Kotor Security Department yesterday afternoon by telephone, when the participants were instructed on how to fill out the European report.
However, in the evening, more precisely, two hours after the first call, the participants in the aforementioned traffic accident called the police again and requested an on-site investigation of the traffic accident," the police statement said.
The police said that upon arriving at the scene, their officers, after conducting reconnaissance, suspected that the traffic accident had been faked, and the persons involved in the traffic accident were invited to come to the official premises of the Kotor Security Department.
"After collecting information from both individuals, one of whom is a foreign citizen and the other PK (65) from Tivat, the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed of the incident," the statement said, after which criminal charges were filed against the Tivat resident.
"He committed the criminal offense of inducing the verification of false content by having a traffic accident with the aforementioned vehicle, which at that moment had the license plates of a third vehicle, so after the first call to the police, he removed the vehicle he was driving and brought in another vehicle on which he highlighted the same license plates from the first vehicle and then made a second call to the police to conduct an on-site investigation. The license plates were also seized from him," the police statement concluded.
