The High Court Council confirmed the indictment against four members of the Kavak criminal clan, Radoje Živković, known as Žuti, Ratko Živković, known as Zemo, Milan Vujotić and Zdravko Perunović, who are charged with creating a criminal organization and the aggravated murder of a member of their clan, Ljubomir Lainović.
"The Council of the Higher Court in Podgorica, by decision Kvso No. 10/24, dated April 29 this year, confirmed the indictment Kt-S No. 21/24, dated May 28 last year, which the Special State Prosecutor's Office filed against the defendants: R.Ž., R.Ž., ZP and MV, for the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and aggravated murder committed in complicity," the Special State Prosecutor's Office announced.
They explain that the indictment was filed because there is a reasonable suspicion that, in June 2020, on the territory of Montenegro and Serbia and other European countries, the defendant Radoje Živković organized a criminal organization, whose members included the defendants R.Ž., ZP and MV and other persons, for the purpose of committing the criminal offenses of murder and aggravated murder.
"And then he made the decision to insidiously, out of reckless revenge, greed and base motives, take the life of a member of a criminal organization, the injured party Lj.L., because there was a possibility that, in the event of deprivation of liberty by the police, he would reveal all information about the murders of members of the opposing criminal organization, to which the accused MV agreed and gave instructions as to which of the accused would commit the criminal offense and for what monetary compensation, as well as how the traces of the criminal offense should be removed, so the accused R.Ž. drove the injured party to the forest, in the area of the village of G., municipality D., falsely representing to him that they would practice shooting with a firearm at that place, where the accused ZP took his life with a firearm, and then both accused threw the remains of the injured party into an improvised grave and buried them, about which they informed the organizer in encrypted communication at the time, and the accused R.Ž. in Serbia, a monetary award in the amount of EUR 400.000,00 was paid through an intermediary," SDT said.
