Tivat and Kotor: Persons of operational interest controlled, several catering establishments fined over 6.000 euros

Targeted controls of facilities and operationally interesting persons (OIL) were carried out in Kotor and Tivat yesterday, and the competent inspections sanctioned several catering establishments with over 6.000 euros, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.

"Yesterday, officers of the Regional Security Center 'South', in cooperation with officers of the Republic Labor Inspectorate, Tourism and Sanitary Inspectorate, carried out targeted planned activities aimed at controlling the operations of catering facilities, as well as controlling operationally interesting persons and their stay in catering facilities, with an emphasis on finding and seizing prohibited items and illegal substances," the statement said.

The Police Department added that on this occasion, increased control and inspection of guests in catering establishments in Kotor and Tivat, at the locations of Opatovo, Obala Đuraševići, Prčanj, Perast, Sveti Stasije and Dobrota, was carried out.

"Police officers from the Tivat Security Department carried out an intensified control of catering establishments, with an emphasis on the control of operationally interesting persons and members of organized crime groups. On that occasion, operationally interesting persons (OIL) RS, DJ and Đ.S, as well as IM from Cetinje, who was accompanied by NJ from Tivat, were controlled in two establishments. In order to determine the regularity of business, with the assistance of the police, a tour of catering establishments was carried out, during which the competent inspections established irregularities in the work of four establishments in Kotor, for which the legal entities were issued misdemeanor orders in the total amount of 6.600 euros, and it was also determined that the workers in the establishments did not have sanitary books," the UP statement reads.

It is also stated that officers of the Regional Security Center "South", in cooperation with the competent inspections, continue with planned proactive actions and repressive activities aimed at maintaining stable public order and peace, detecting and suppressing all forms of crime.

"Special emphasis is placed on raising the level of security during the summer tourist season, in order to provide domestic and foreign tourists with a safe and pleasant stay on the Montenegrin coast, and to ensure conditions for the legal and safe operation of catering facilities," said the UP.
