Vesna Medenica's daughter, Marija Medenica Dulović, said that during the search of her mother's house, she was in a state of shock and crying the entire time.
She said this as a witness in the ongoing trial of the former president of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, her son Miloš, and other defendants.
"Two days after my mother was arrested, I was summoned on April 19, 2022, at around 15.30:20 p.m. by officers of the Police Administration to come to search my mother's house. They told me to provide two witnesses so that they would not provide them from the street. They gave me a deadline to come in 30 to XNUMX minutes. At that moment, I called my colleague and friend Bajčeta Maša and godmother Marina Vuksanović," said Medenica Dulović.
She added that her lawyer also went with them.
"Immediately upon arrival, I saw about thirty police officers stationed all over the yard, all in civilian clothes. Upon entering the house, I stayed in the hallway, my godmother and friend were in another room on the ground floor, and the lawyer went with them upstairs. I remember that they immediately found a weapon that was under a permit, but I didn't know where the documentation was. One of those officers called the Clinical Center, where my mother was at the time. He told me where the firearms license was. I remember that they looked at the safe on the staircase and asked me if I had the keys. Since my mother had given me the key to that safe a long time ago, with Inspector Kalinić's permission, I went with Maša to my house to get the key and we were away for about half an hour. During that time, the inspectors remained in the house where my mother's house was being searched," said Medenica Dulović.
He also said that he remembered that after returning, she was in a room with Inspector Kalinić, who was reviewing some files.
"At one point, he showed me a newspaper cover that referred to my late husband, but I didn't want to comment on it with him. Then he found some paper and I went to my lawyer's room to ask what it was. They took a picture of it and that was the end of it. It was all like a movie and in one moment, about seventy police officers were there, because they sent reinforcements during the search. I was in shock and crying the whole time. I just wanted to go home and see my child, who was 11 years old at the time," said Medenica-Dulović.
She added that the search lasted until 23 p.m.
She stated that she then went to the Security Center to sign the minutes. Responding to questions from Special Prosecutor Vukas Radonjić, she said that she learned from the media that her mother fell ill the day after her arrest and was in the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
Her testimony was interrupted today after the accused Radomir Raičević was examined by Dr. Nemanja Radojević. At the very beginning of the main trial, the accused complained that he was not feeling well, but said that he could follow the proceedings. After he continued to have chest pains, the panel of Judge Vesna Kovačević decided that he be examined at the Urgent Care Center, as indicated by Radojević.
The trial is scheduled to continue tomorrow.
