Officers of the Interpol NCB Podgorica, Special and Special Police Units, yesterday extradited Montenegrin citizen Aleksandar Ljumović (43) from Bulgaria to our country, the Police Directorate announced.

"The NCB Interpol Podgorica issued an international arrest warrant for him based on orders from the Higher Court in Podgorica, in order to ensure his presence in criminal proceedings conducted on suspicion that he committed three criminal offenses: creation of a criminal organization and the criminal offense of aggravated murder by aiding and abetting.

"As a reminder, A.Lj. was arrested in Bulgaria on April 14, 2025. He is listed as a high-ranking member of an organized criminal group operating in the territory of Montenegro and abroad," the police statement said. After extradition, it was added, A.Lj. was brought to the Higher Court in Podgorica for further jurisdiction.
