Budva police, in cooperation with members of the Special Unit, conducted a search of the family homes of brothers Jovo and Vidak Mitrović on the city bypass.
Police inspectors entered the housing complex, and police vehicles were parked outside.
The Mitrović brothers are suspected of beating the president of the Budva Municipality, Nikola Jovanović, this morning.
According to sources from the Police Directorate (UP), Jovanović was attacked by three men.
Jovanović was found to have serious physical injuries and is being held at the Clinical Center, it was confirmed to "Vijesti".
According to information from Vijesti, Jovanović was attacked this morning at the city swimming pool where he was sitting with friends.
Jovanović told the police that he was attacked by brothers Jovo and Vidak Mitrović and two other people. Vidak is an official of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Budva and a member of the Board of Directors of the Coastal Property. Jovo Mitrović is listed as a person of interest (BIL) for security reasons.
The Budva police have taken urgent measures to determine the circumstances under which the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, sustained injuries, the Police Directorate announced, stating that information from three people is being collected.
The police said that, in connection with the physical attack on Jovanović, a criminal investigation is being conducted at the premises of the Budva Security Department and information is being collected from JM, VM and MM.

They stated that, after an examination at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, a specialist doctor diagnosed Jovanović with physical injuries.
As the police said, the extent of the injuries will be determined during further proceedings.
"At the same time, information is being collected from Jovanović regarding the circumstances under which the physical attack occurred," the statement said.
The police said that the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Kotor is aware of everything, and after evaluating the case file and the severity of the injuries, he will make a statement on the legal qualification of the event and the further status of JM, VM and MM.
"At the initiative of police officers, and in cooperation and coordination with the acting state prosecutor at the ODT in Kotor, an order was obtained from the Kotor Basic Court, and searches of premises used by JM, VM and MM are underway at several locations in Budva," the statement said.
