Jovo Mitrović, suspected of attacking the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, has been deprived of his liberty, it was unofficially confirmed to Vijesti.
The same source said that Budva police arrested Vidak and Bato Mitrović, who are charged with the criminal offense of violent behavior, after questioning.
Mitrović is listed as a person of interest for security reasons (PIS). He will be brought before the Kotor prosecutor tomorrow with criminal charges.
"JM is suspected of committing the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm, while MM and VM are suspected of the criminal offense of violent behavior, to the detriment of the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović. They have been deprived of their liberty and will be brought before the acting prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline," the Police Directorate announced.
Jovo Mitrović is suspected of punching Jovanović in a restaurant near the city swimming pool today.
Jovanović told police this morning that he was attacked by brothers Jovo and Vidak Mitrović and two other people. Vidak is an official of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Budva and a member of the Board of Directors of the Maritime Administration.
Jovanović was found to have serious physical injuries and is being held at the Clinical Center, it was confirmed to "Vijesti".
