The investigating judge of the Basic Court in Kotor, Špiro Pavićević, ordered the detention of up to 30 days for Jovo Mitrović, a resident of Budva, for attacking the mayor of Budva, Nikola Jovanović. This was confirmed to Vijesti by the spokesperson of the Basic Court, Judge Veljko Bulatović.
Bulatović said that both Vidak and Milorad Mitrović were questioned before the investigating judge, and that the proposal of the basic state prosecutor was accepted and they were ordered to refrain from approaching Jovanović.
Jovo Mitrović was sent to the Spusk Remand Prison.
As Vijesti was told, the basis for detention is the risk of repeating the criminal offense.
"After the hearing, the acting prosecutor ordered the detention of the suspect JM and proposed that he be placed in custody due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm, to the detriment of His Excellency the President of the Municipality of Budva. After the hearing, it was proposed that the suspects V.M. and MM be placed under supervision," states the official statement signed by Tijana Čelanović, head of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor.
