Speaking about the attack on the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, Acting Director of the Police Administration, Lazar Šćepanović, said that the suspect had personal and political motives for the act.
"The motives are more than known," added Šćepanović at an extraordinary press conference of the Police Directorate, which was organized after the second murder in four days in Podgorica.
The Basic Court in Kotor has ordered a 30-day detention order for Jovo Mitrović from Budva for the attack on Jovanović, who was beaten on Friday. Vidak and Milorad Mitrović, Jovo's brothers who were with him at the time of the attack, were ordered to stay away from Jovanović.

The President of the Municipality of Budva has asked the Police Directorate to conduct a security assessment for him, and when asked whether this will happen, Šćepanović said that the security assessment will be conducted in accordance with the law.
The acting police director could not confirm the information from the document published on social media, according to which the five Mitrović brothers were listed as members of organized crime groups.
