Ulcinj police officers and members of the border police yesterday, in cooperation with other authorities, carried out an action aimed at controlling water scooters and processed three people, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement added that on this occasion, on the Big Beach, police officers and tourism inspectors found SS (30) illegally renting out water scooters.
"It was also determined that L.Ć. (23) from the Republic of Serbia was operating a vessel without a license. Measures and actions within the jurisdiction of the tourist inspection were taken against them," the statement said.
The UP added that measures and actions within their jurisdiction were taken by officers of the Port Captaincy - Bar, the Ulcinj Municipal Police, as well as officers of the Border Police Station I Ulcinj.
"On the same occasion, on Velika Plaza, a person named AR (35) from Ulcinj was found operating a water scooter that was illegally towing a rubber boat - the so-called 'Banana', on which there were foreign citizens. The person was sanctioned by the competent authorities, in accordance with their powers," the statement reads.
The Police Department said that the action was carried out with the coordination and supervision of Police Department officers with the aim of preventing incidents on the water, especially those with the most serious consequences.
"We particularly highlight worrying cases in which vessels – specifically jet skis – were illegally rented by their owners and operated by persons without appropriate permits and necessary authorizations," the UP said.
