The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica opened a case after a report by President Jakov Milatović that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj sent him threatening and inappropriate messages in a telephone conversation last night.
This was confirmed to Vijesti by the head of the Podgorica Public Prosecutor's Office, Duško Milanović.
The prosecution will take statements from the head of state and Đeljošaj in the coming days, after which it will make a decision in the case.
The Office of the President of Montenegro announced that Deputy Prime Minister Nik Đeljošaj sent a series of threats and inappropriate messages to President Jakov Milatović, immediately after it was announced that the head of state had returned the Law on Real Estate Tax to the Parliament for reconsideration.
Last night, Milatović's cabinet called on Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to immediately dismiss Đeljošaj, and everything was reported to the director of the Police Directorate, as announced.
Đeljošaj issued a statement saying that Milatović was trying to use the accusations to divert the topic from what he had intended to publish, which was that Milatović refused to sign the Law on Real Estate Tax, as he wrote, "due to his godfather connections with Nebojša Vuksanović", the former president of the Board of Directors of the company "13. jul - Plantaže", "in order to obtain personal benefit for himself and him".
"Vijesti" was told by the office of the president that Vuksanović is not Milatović's best man. He is hired as an associate in the office of the president of Montenegro.
It was not clear from Đeljošaj's statement what benefit Milatović could have, since Vuksanović is no longer on the board of "Plantaža".
As announced yesterday, Milatović returned the Law on Real Estate Tax due to, as he claims, violations of the Constitution, legal uncertainty and the possibility that 22.000 farmers will lose tax breaks.
Following Đeljošaj's claims, the President of the State published on the X network a correspondence with the Deputy Prime Minister, who addressed the Head of State in an inappropriate manner.
In the messages, among other things, Đeljošaj wrote: "You shouldn't have gotten into this, and expect a reaction from Albanians at all levels and wherever we have influence," and then continued: "But you will get the answer you deserve"...
