Threatening the personal safety of employees as well as destroying anyone's property - in this case, a reputable Montenegrin company - represents a serious warning signal and a final call for effective action to combat such a phenomenon, the Montenegrin Employers' Association (CUP) said in a statement regarding the case of, as they said, endangering the employees and property of the company "Ljetopis Automotive".
Otherwise, CUP adds, the message is sent that such a phenomenon can become a practice and that the safety of employees and company assets - two key factors in creating personal and social well-being - are not the focus of attention of those in charge, but rather on the sidelines.
The association expressed serious concern about the attitude of the competent institutions in the case of the company "Ljetopis Automotive". The company issued a statement on Sunday regarding what they said was a worrying series of incidents that threaten the safety of the company's employees and property, while, they said, the competent authorities are not taking protective measures.
The statement noted that the company has been facing serious security incidents for a long time due to VB's continued attacks on employees and company property, and that the prosecutor's office has dismissed several of their criminal charges. Police later announced on Sunday that VB had been arrested and then remanded in custody.
"In the countries of developed Western democracies, the right to personal security, in general, and especially of employees, and the security of property are fundamental rights that are uncompromisingly protected and preserved, not because the institutions in those countries love man more than us, but because they are aware that these are the foundations on which society and its progress rest.
Without safety in general, and especially safety at work, no meaningful activity is possible, let alone economic activity, on which, in this case, fifty-two employees depend. In addition to them, no matter how ironic it may seem, the activity of those who are called upon to ensure safety and provide protection to people and property also depends, because companies, by paying taxes, pay for these and other state services. The company in question paid 3,5 million euros in taxes last year. In the end, we want to believe that those responsible will act in accordance with their authority and protect property and people," CUP stated.
