The Women's Forum of the Civic Movement URA expressed sadness and outrage over the murder of Alma Ćosović.
"Another woman's life has been ended in a brutal act of violence, another family shrouded in black, and the state and society are faced with another serious femicide. This is not an isolated case, but another in a series of proofs that the system is not functioning in protecting women. We must not allow such crimes to be normalized, nor to be passed over in silence. Political and institutional courage is needed to put an end to violence," said the president of the URA Women's Forum Vladana Lompar.
"We demand an urgent and thorough investigation of this case, as well as the adoption of comprehensive measures that will ensure women in Montenegro the right to live without fear. We advocate for a society that will encourage women to speak out, that will not turn a blind eye to their pain, and that will provide them with an environment in which they will not feel alone, unprotected, and forced to live their lives looking death in the eye," said Lompar.
