Junior Sergeant Dejan Božović (41) from Danilovgrad was killed, and Sergeant Marko Iković suffered serious injuries while fighting a fire in the Kuča area, the Ministry of Defense announced.
The accident occurred when the water tanker they were driving overturned and slid down a steep slope next to the road to the village of Kupusci in Kuči, the statement said.

"Junior Sergeant Božović was a member of the 1st Infantry Battalion, married and a father of four children. He had been serving in the Army since 2006, and served as a gunner on a 120mm mortar. The injured Sergeant Iković, also a member of the 1st Infantry Battalion, was taken care of and transported for medical treatment. He has serious physical injuries, but is currently stable and conscious," they said.

The Army of Montenegro, in cooperation with the competent authorities, is conducting an investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the accident.

The injured soldier was transported to the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Brigadier General Miodrag Vuksanović, arrived at the scene upon learning of the accident.
