The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Bar has filed a case against Mladen Perović, the driver of Interior Minister Danilo Šaranović, for causing an accident near Virpazar in mid-June, in which one person was slightly injured.
This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the head of the Bar ODT, Radovan Đurišić. He said that the proceedings are in the investigation phase and that the suspect and witnesses will be questioned.
"After an expert examination, it was determined that he was at fault for the accident. This is a criminal offense under Section 339 of the Criminal Code - endangering public traffic," he said.
Đurišić added that this resulted from the findings and opinions of the expert, and that is why the case against him was formed on that basis. Whether there will be an indictment will be shown by the trial, he concluded.
The Police Directorate (PD) announced on June 16 that on the Bar-Podgorica main road, in the town of Virpazar, on Sunday, June 15, at around 20:30 p.m., a traffic accident occurred involving three vehicles, including an official vehicle of the Ministry of the Interior carrying Minister Šaranović.
"After the accident, two people were treated medically. One person suffered minor injuries, and the other person - the minister's wife, who is in advanced pregnancy, is in stable condition after medical examinations," the statement said.
The UP added that, after investigating the incident and determining all relevant facts regarding the traffic accident, they will inform the public about them.
