Police officers in Bijelo Polje and Nikšić have filed criminal charges against three people for criminal offenses related to the exploitation of natural resources, the Police Directorate announced.
It is alleged that Bijelo Polje police officers filed a criminal complaint against VK from Bijelo Polje, who is suspected of illegally cutting down five pine trees with a total gross wood mass of 6,698 cubic meters (m3) in the state forest, in the area of the "Mejdanica - Lisa" management unit, at the end of July.
The police said that in this way, material damage was caused to the Forest and Hunting Management Administration in Bijelo Polje.
It is added that a criminal complaint has been filed against VK at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forest theft.
The police statement states that officers of the Regional Security Center "West", Security Department Nikšić filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić against two people for the criminal offense of forest theft.
"DT (41) and RS (35) are charged with this criminal offense, who were caught illegally cutting down a beech forest on August 6 in the town of Gradačka Poljana, Nikšić municipality," the statement said.
