UP: Parezanović and Marović arrested for causing bodily harm and endangering security

Budva residents Nenad Parezanović (39) and Nikola Marović (63) were arrested for causing bodily harm and endangering safety, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.

The statement states that police officers, taking measures and actions to shed light on the events of August 22nd, when a verbal and physical conflict occurred between two people in Budva, arrested Parezanović and Marović last night for committing multiple criminal offenses.

Parezanović claimed that he was attacked a few days ago by members of the Marović family, who had previously, he claims, insulted and attacked tourists.

Branka and Kristina Marović called the Vijesti editorial office yesterday, stating that the tenant had beaten up both their husband and father, Nikola Marović.

The Police Department announced today that on August 19, Budva police officers acted on reports from several people that a fight had occurred near the lighthouse on Jaz.

"Police patrols and the Budva Ambulance were sent to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, two women - BM and KM - were found with injuries to their bodies and heads. After being provided with assistance by the Budva HMP officers, they were transported to the Kotor Clinical Hospital Center for further medical care. On the same day, information on the circumstances of the event was collected in the premises of the Budva Security Department from a person named NP (39) from Budva, who reported to police officers by phone that he had been physically attacked by the M family. On August 61, 33, information was collected from BM (20.8.2025) and KM (XNUMX) in relation to the incident in question in the official premises, and they submitted medical reports to police officers after the examinations," the UP statement reads.

The UP said that after collecting information from witnesses and eyewitnesses of the event, as well as the aforementioned persons, the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed about the event, who announced that he would later comment on the qualification of the act.

"Police officers learned that yesterday, at around 12.00:63, a verbal and physical conflict occurred between NM (39) and NP (XNUMX), in a fenced private area behind NM's house. On this occasion, both persons sustained minor bodily injuries, as noted in medical reports. After conducting a criminal investigation and collecting information from several persons as well as the actors of the event themselves - NM and NP, the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed about everything, who ordered that both persons be deprived of their liberty. NP was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of minor bodily injury, to the detriment of NM. NM was also deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of minor bodily injury and the criminal offense of endangering security to the detriment of NP," the Police Department said.

The institution stated that a search was conducted at Nikola Marović's home and that a Zoraki starter pistol and 34 rounds of ammunition were found and seized, without the necessary documentation.

"Police officers from the Budva Security Department, in cooperation and coordination with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, continue to undertake further activities in relation to the event of August 19, 2025," the UP said.
