The official car of the Hotel Group "Budvanska rivijera", a Skoda (BD BD 084), was damaged in a chain collision on the highway in the town of Lučani, near Čačak, on August 29, when it was driven by the current advisor to the executive director, the former chairman of the Board of Directors of this largest hotel company in majority state ownership, Mijomir Pejović, a member of the Democrats.
The car, which is officially used by members of the Board of Directors, suffered significant damage, and since it was not in a roadworthy condition, a towing service had to bring it to Montenegro.
Pejović told "Vijesti" that he drove the car for official purposes as approved, and rejected speculation that he used it for private purposes and during vacations in a neighboring country.
"As an advisor to the CEO, I was at a meeting on August 28th at 15 pm in Kolačeva Street in Belgrade with the CEO of the Big Blue Group, Vladimir Vladisavljević. The next day, while returning on the highway near Lučani, the vehicle behind me caused a chain collision in which the vehicle in front of me also participated. The car was not in roadworthy condition and was towed to Montenegro," said Pejović.
He emphasized that the local police conducted an investigation and concluded in the report that the driver who was behind the official car caused the accident and is at fault.
Pejović said that speculation that the vehicle was secretly transported across the border in order to cover up the case is not true, but rather it crossed the border crossing properly.
Pejović recently resigned from the Board of Directors, causing a crisis in the management body. He opposed the election of PES representative Luka Vukalović as the president of the Board of Directors of "Budvanska rivijera", claiming that he was opposed to plans by some power centers in Podgorica to privatize the tourist resort "Slovenska plaža".
