Mitrović denies causing serious injuries to Jovanović

Budva residents, brothers Jovo, Vidak and Milorad Mitrović, denied today before the judge of the Basic Court in Kotor, Nina Bulajić, the criminal offenses charged against them by the Basic State Prosecutor's Office - causing serious bodily harm and violent behavior towards the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović.

The spokesperson for the Basic Court in Kotor, Judge Veljko Bulatović, confirmed to "Vijesti" that the defendants Jovo, Vidak and Milorad Mitrović were questioned at today's hearing, and that a hearing has been scheduled for September 19th at which the injured party Nikola Jovanović will be questioned.

As a reminder, in mid-August, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment to the Basic Court in Kotor charging Jovo Mitrović with the criminal offense of causing serious bodily harm to Jovanović, while Vidak and Milorad Mitrović are accused of violent behavior.

"Jovov, Vidak and Milorad Mitrović denied today the commission of the criminal offense they were charged with, and they stuck to their previously given statements before the ODT. At the next hearing, the evidence proposed in the indictment will be presented," the legal representatives of the Mitrović brothers, lawyers Nikola Kavedžić and Matija Bulatović, told "Vijesti".

As a reminder, on July 18, Jovanović reported that he was attacked by three Mitrović brothers in a bar near the city pool in the "Slovenska plaža" tourist resort, while he was sitting with his friend, "Budva naš grad" councilor Srđan Pribilović, and suffered serious physical injuries, which were confirmed at the Clinical Center in Podgorica.

He accused the leader of the New Serbian Democracy, Andrija Mandić, and the criminal structures in that party, which, he pointed out, included Mitrović, of being personally behind the attack. The party denied Jovanović's accusations, stating that this was a personal matter between Jovanović and Mitrović, and called on the Police Directorate to release the video surveillance footage in order to establish the truth about the attack.

Vidak Mitrović is an official of the local NSD board, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Enterprise "Morsko dobro", but resigned after the incident.
