Tivat police, in cooperation with officers from the Tivat Social Work Center, undertaking activities aimed at combating the exploitation of children for the purpose of begging, came to the suspicion that a 17-year-old minor from Serbia and BV (27) from Kosovo had committed the criminal offense of human trafficking and arrested them.

As announced by the Police Directorate, Tivat police officers, in cooperation with officers from the Tivat Social Work Center, undertaking planned field activities within their jurisdiction, found three minors begging in front of a commercial building in Tivat.

"Information was collected at the official premises of the Tivat Security Department from two persons - the father of the three injured children BV (27) and the mother of one of them, a 17-year-old minor, who were also found at the scene. Through the actions taken, the police came to suspect that the minor and BV were exploiting the aforementioned children for the purpose of begging, and the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the incident, upon whose order these two persons were deprived of their liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking," the police announced.

They were brought before the acting prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica today, with a criminal complaint, for further proceedings.
