Podgorica police are searching for Aleksandar Prelević, who escaped from the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Clinical Center this morning.
He was being held in the hospital because he was remanded in custody last week for property crimes.
Prelević was reported missing this morning at around 6.40:XNUMX a.m.
"On September 8, 2025, in the morning, a detained person AP suspected of the crime of theft (detention measure determined by the basic court), who was undergoing treatment at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases of the KCCG, escaped from hospital treatment," the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) told "Vijesti".
As they explained, on that occasion, two security officers from the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions were engaged in the security duties of Prelević, in accordance with the rules of security work at UIKS.
"Activities are underway to locate this person, both by UIKS officers and by officers of the Police Directorate, and in parallel, the circumstances under which the detainee escaped from the hospital are being determined. After determining all the facts and circumstances of the specific event, the public will be informed in a timely manner," they told "Vijesti".
