Physical education teacher at the "Maršal Tito" Elementary School (OS) in Ulcinj, RP (66), arrested on Saturday, September 6th, on suspicion of sexually harassing a nine-year-old student, was released today to defend himself in further proceedings, "Vijesti" has learned.
According to the same information, the Basic Court in Ulcinj adopted the proposed measure of supervision and a ban on approaching the injured party and witnesses.
The fact that RP had no previous convictions for such acts was considered a mitigating circumstance.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI), immediately after the arrest, suspended the teacher until the completion of the procedure.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs welcomes the rapid reaction and sensitivity shown by the competent institutions in this very sensitive case. With full respect for the rights of the injured party, and respecting the presumption of innocence, we express our belief that the competent authorities will fully shed light on this event in the most efficient manner and through urgent procedures," the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced at the time.
Ulcinj police arrested RP (66) on Saturday on suspicion of sexually harassing a nine-year-old schoolgirl.
"Police officers from the Ulcinj Security Department have arrested RP (66) from Ulcinj on suspicion of committing the crime of sexual harassment against a nine-year-old girl. The suspect is a teacher, while the victim is a student at a school. The incident was reported to the police on September 2, after which police officers immediately, with special care and sensitivity because it concerns a minor child, took all necessary measures and actions to establish the facts of the reported incident," the Police Directorate announced at the time.
