The Society of Professional Journalists (DPNCG) supports the investigative work of journalist Jelena Jovanović and appreciates that she has made an immeasurable contribution by disclosing the Sky Messages, shedding light on the dark past and the connections of public officials with criminal structures.
"By doing this, Jovanović consciously endangered her own safety and took more risks than many police and prosecutorial officials in the years behind us. Although Jelena Perović has the right to protect her rights, as a former court president she must know that the overriding public interest is for the public to know whether there was any unauthorized influence, from outside or within the system, on judicial office holders," reads a statement signed by DPNCG Vice President Jelena Jovanović.
The DPNCG expects the Basic Prosecutor's Office to no longer delay this case, but to make a lawful decision, based on international standards.
