Vice President of Democratic Montenegro Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić accused certain non-governmental organizations of hindering the fight against crime.
She did not specify in the statement which non-governmental organizations she was referring to.
These NGOs, according to Kažanegra Stanišić, "protect the promoters of crime in the Police and Army of Montenegro."
The Vice President of the Democrats also said that these NGOs "best showed their true colors at the rally in Cetinje the day before yesterday."
"There, without a shred of shame, they proudly stood in front of the figure and deeds of Nen Kaluđerović, a man suspected of the most serious crimes in the field of organized crime and corruption, a man who taught the Kavača mafia how to burn the bodies of murdered citizens of Montenegro. You will always hear them when it is necessary to stand up for the representatives of the Kavača and Škalja clan in the institutions of the system, and you will never hear them except when they attack honorable officials and civil servants who are fighting against the drug mafia, tobacco mafia, eco-mafia and street dealers and other forms of crime," said Kažanegra Stanišić.
She added that their mission is clear "to portray criminals as heroes and crime fighters as culprits."
"We express our utmost respect and gratitude to all the honorable and brave officers who break the criminal octopus every day and who respond to the hybrid actions of the mafia with an even stronger fight against crime. Today, they are the shield of the state and the freedom of every honest citizen. These 'guardians of procedure' also made noise when Milivoje Katnić was dismissed, claiming that the law was not respected. And when two courts, in their final verdicts, confirmed the legality of his dismissal, they fell silent forever, probably ashamed of their misdeeds and their connections. Today, they are most hurt by the honorable and brave director of the Police Administration, apparently because, among other things, he is fighting against the construction mafia, against those who thought they would live forever off Svetozar Marović's business. That is why they hate every honest citizen and every honorable official of this country, because they do not have the tens of millions that they acquired in various dirty ways," claims Kažanegra Stanišić.
She also said that all of these organizations "have today had a lawyer and former police officer suspended for tire fraud."
"This fact speaks best about them and what they represent, the systemic protection of crime and an open attack on the state. This is not a fight against any organization or individual, this is a fight against suspicious millionaires who hide under that name. And that is why we are telling them: you can defend mafia members, you can attack honest people, you can invent lies, but you cannot stop the determined fight against crime that has begun and will be waged to the end," the statement reads.
