Man from Nikšić arrested: Suspected of giving drugs to fellow citizen

ML (47) from Nikšić was arrested on suspicion of giving drugs to fellow citizen AG (43), the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.

The statement states that Nikšić police officers arrested a returnee for committing criminal offenses related to drug abuse, and found drugs in his possession.

"Yesterday, officers of the Anti-Drug Unit conducted a control of a passenger motor vehicle with Podgorica license plates in a parking lot, driven by AG (43) from Nikšić, while ML (47) from Nikšić was in the passenger seat. During the control, a package of green plant matter resembling the narcotic drug marijuana was found in AG's possession, while about 26 ml of the narcotic drug methadone was found in ML's possession, as well as a syringe containing the same substance," the statement said.

The UP added that after testing at a health facility, AG tested positive for the presence of cocaine, benzodiazepine and methadone in her body.

"By implementing further official measures and actions in relation to these persons, it was determined that ML enabled AG to consume narcotics, which is why, by order of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, ML was deprived of his liberty and a criminal complaint was filed against him on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of enabling the consumption of narcotics. A misdemeanor charge was filed against AG for a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse, in summary proceedings," the UP said.
