Border Police seize nine rifles, 547 rounds of ammunition and weapon parts during searches

The Nikšić Border Police Station, in cooperation with the Mobile Unit and the Plužine Border Police Station, today carried out planned operational activities aimed at combating all forms of cross-border crime, as well as targeted controls of persons of operational interest, and in accordance with the orders obtained from the Higher Court in Podgorica, conducted searches at two locations.

As announced by the Police Directorate, nine rifles, 547 pieces of ammunition of various types and calibers, as well as weapon parts - rifle barrels and optics, were seized.

"During a search of the house of GK (35) in Vraćenovići, six rifles of different brands were found and seized, three of which were in illegal possession and three with valid weapons licenses, as well as 273 pieces of ammunition of different types and calibers. At another location, a search was conducted at the house of PK (25), also in Vraćenovići, and on that occasion the police found and seized three rifles, one of which was without accompanying documentation, 274 pieces of ammunition, a hunting rifle barrel and optics," the Police Directorate announced.

The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed of the event, on whose order the weapons were seized, information was collected from the GK and PK, and an expert examination of the weapons and ammunition was ordered. After reviewing the complete case files, he will decide on the possible qualification of the crime.
