"If Katnić's allegations about the connection between the Security Information Agency (BIA) and the criminal group known as the Kavački clan are proven to be true, the Security Information Agency should be immediately dissolved and its leaders prosecuted," says the president of the Democratic Party, Srđan Milivojević, regarding yesterday's testimony by Milivoj Katnić, former chief special prosecutor, before the Higher Court in Podgorica.
In the continuation of the trial of Zoran Lazović, former assistant director of the Police Directorate, and former special prosecutor Saša Čađenović, Katnić spoke about the alleged involvement of the state leadership in Serbia in organized crime in the Western Balkans.
The reason for the culmination of the bloody clashes between the Kavač clan and members of the Škalja criminal clan, in which many mafia murders were also committed on the territory of Serbia, according to the testimony of Milivoje Katnić, lies in the conflict between Aleksandar Vučić and former Minister of Police Nebojša Stefanović.
The former chief special prosecutor further stated that during the conflict between Vučić and Nebojša Stefanović, these clans were also used. He noted that BIA structures cooperated with the Kavač clan in drug trafficking and provided them with protection.
