The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica filed an indictment with the Basic Court in Podgorica against the Secretary of the Judicial Council, Vesna Aćimić, for the criminal offense of abuse of official position and the criminal offense of preventing the presentation of evidence for an extended period of time.
"The indictment charges the defendant VA with exceeding the limits of her official authority, obtaining a benefit for MZ, a judge of the Basic Court in Rožaje, by failing to submit information to the Judicial Council that criminal proceedings were being conducted against the said judge, which was the reason for his removal from judicial office," the Podgorica Public Prosecutor's Office announced.
Aćimić is also charged with failing to submit the original case file requested from her in the criminal proceedings before the Special State Prosecutor's Office and later the High Court in Podgorica against the former President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Vesna Medenica, in an attempt to prevent evidence, which relates to the notification of a group of citizens that criminal proceedings were being conducted against Judge Milosav Zekić.
