"The security sector has not failed, because the level of disclosure of such acts is 97 percent, and the number of prosecutions is more than half what it was before 2020. The citizens of Montenegro must know that this security sector no longer works for criminal structures as it did before," said Minister of Interior Danilo Šaranović, commenting on today's murder of Stefan Belada and Andrija Ivanović in the village of Ugnja.
Šaranović, while appearing on RTCG, confirmed that Belada and Ivanovic are members of the Skalja clan. He stressed that the identities of the victims were quickly established and that it is too early to talk about solving this case, given that it happened on the outskirts and that these individuals were lured by a rival criminal group.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also said that they inherited a situation in which there are two organized criminal groups with around 700 members and that a showdown between criminal groups is taking place here, as well as in the world and Europe.
"Even much more organized countries with more modern security systems have problems with criminal groups; there is no system that can prevent every criminal act," Šaranović is convinced.
As announced by the police, Belada and Ivanovic were found dead at around 3:45 p.m. in a car parked on a macadam extension of a local road, about 250 meters from the Cetinje - Budva road.
