3.917 weapons returned since the beginning of the year

As part of the campaign "Respect Life, Return Weapons", from January 2 to October 2, a total of 3.917 weapons, 129.248 pieces of ammunition, 438 hand grenades, as well as several hundred weapon parts and explosive devices were voluntarily surrendered to the Police Department.

In the past month, 40 weapons have been voluntarily surrendered, along with 971 pieces of ammunition, four hand grenades and weapon parts.

Citizens in the territory under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "Centar" voluntarily handed over 14 weapons to the police, of which 11 pistols and three rifles, 564 pieces of ammunition and two hand grenades.

Eight weapons were voluntarily surrendered to officers of the Regional Security Center "South", including five pistols and three rifles, as well as one hand grenade and 195 rounds of ammunition.

In the northern region of the country, in the territory under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "North", 11 weapons were voluntarily surrendered, of which five rifles and six pistols, 198 pieces of ammunition, one hand grenade, as well as weapon parts.

Seven firearms, five of which were pistols and two rifles, as well as 14 rounds of ammunition, were voluntarily surrendered to police officers of the Regional Security Center "West".

"The Police Directorate thanks citizens for their continued and responsible attitude towards personal and collective security and calls on them to take advantage of the opportunity to voluntarily return weapons without legal consequences," the statement reads.
