Investigative judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica, Goran Šćepanović, ordered the detention of businessman Aleksandar Mijajlović and former head of the counterintelligence service, Drago Spičanović.
The accused police officers Milovan Pavićević and Vladan Lazović were ordered to be placed under house arrest, while Senior State Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic had her passport confiscated.
The Public Relations Advisor of the Higher Court, Ivana Vukmirović, confirmed to "Vijesti" that the investigating judge ordered Mijajlović and Spičanović to be detained for up to 30 days, under points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Procedure Code, that Lazović and Pavićević were ordered to be placed under surveillance - a ban on leaving the apartment, and that prosecutor Nastic was ordered to have her travel document confiscated and to report to the police periodically.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) suspects that the criminal organization headed by Mijajlović has been undermining the state's security system for years, but also planning other serious crimes.
As Vijesti has learned, the SDT has collected material evidence that led to the opening of an investigation into the case against Mijajlović, as well as former high-ranking officials of the secret and public police and prosecutor Nastic.
The five arrested in the operation by the SDT and the Special Police Department (SPO) were brought before the High Court investigating judge this morning.
Senior State Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic, her cousin - businessman Aleksandar Mijajlović, and former senior police officials Milovan Pavićević, Drago Spičanović and Vladan Lazović were arrested on Friday on suspicion of being part of a criminal group that allegedly hid criminal cases and secret information and passed them on to Mijajlović's criminal group, according to unofficial information from "Vijesti".
Special prosecutors have not officially commented on what is unofficially considered one of the most significant actions.
Piperović: Democrats want to exclude Mijajlović from public life
Lawyer Zoran Piperović claims that this is "an operation by the Democrats to exclude Mijajlović from social life."
"As for the incrimination, OKG consists of Aco Mijajlović exerting pressure on the competition through the portals he has influence on, in order to change the will of the voters, to trivialize, to gossip about individuals or individual political organizations, to change the will of the voters, to fight against the competition, so I'm not caricaturing, that's what it says, and that the goal of OKG is exactly that. So, here, the state has put itself in the role of someone who should promote the values that the state thinks should exist, that there should be no political competition, that everyone thinks that there should be one religious community, that there should be no other," Piperović told reporters today in front of the Higher Court in Podgorica.
"Out of the hundred messages he sent to Spičanović, in 95 messages he asked him to give him the registration number of a car that, while he was driving, passed him or crossed the full line, or overtook the full line, or with blinkers, which is not allowed for blinkers, because he said, I'm interested in whether any of the state officials were there. He was recording it and everything was recorded, it had already been released on the portal. How interested was that? What are they, what are the secrets? He even explained in detail why he was asking for each individual registration," he added.
"This is an entire operation by the Democrats to exclude Mijajlović from social life. Let me be completely clear to you now. And the organization that OKG influences is the Democrats. But they didn't write, they just said, and one organization," the lawyer said.
The prosecutor, police officers and businessman were questioned yesterday at the SDT, at whose order an investigation was opened due to suspicion that the group was acting illegally.
After questioning, they were taken to the Podgorica police concrete mixer.
Prosecutor Nastić is the sister of the uncle of the arrested Mijajlović, and Lazović is the nephew of Zoran Lazović, the former assistant director of the Police Directorate, detained on charges of aiding the Kavača criminal clan.
"Vijesti" sources claim that as part of the large operation, former Nikšić police chief Tihomir Goranović, former Tax Administration director Miomir M. Mugoša, and Jakša Backović, who once headed the police group for combating high-tech crime, were also questioned.

According to this information, statements were also given before special police officers by the former president of the Board of Directors of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) and former Bosniak Party official Alija Košuta, and former employee of the Ministry of Health Aleksandar Klimović.
Vijesti” was told that the group is suspected of allegedly committing a series of criminal acts under the jurisdiction of the SDT.
"This is just the first wave of arrests that will continue," said the newspaper's source.
