Ceno Mujić, whose son Daris was stabbed to death near the Bar high school on October 7th last year, told "Vijesti" that their family is celebrating the anniversary of this traumatic event without justice.
Mujić said that he and his entire family are outraged by the reaction, or rather the lack of reaction, of the state and the competent authorities.
"For a year, we have been proving that an attempted murder was committed against our Daris, while he was at the gates of the 'Niko Rolović' high school. While we as a family are exposed to various spin, pressure and harassment in every possible way, the defendant is freely moving around the city," said the father of the injured high school student.
He asked if "another child needs to suffer" for his son's case to reach a judicial conclusion.
He concluded that this was the last time they would publicly appeal to state and judicial authorities, asking them to have consideration for everything they had gone through, what they were currently going through, and said that they were demanding an immediate response.
On October 7, 2024, eighteen-year-old Daris was attacked by two minors during a short break in front of the "Niko Rolović" high school in Bar, when AK inflicted a life-threatening stab wound with a knife. Mujić's life was in danger for days, he underwent surgery at the Bar General Hospital, and continued his treatment at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) in Podgorica.
Juvenile AK (17) from Bar is suspected of attempting to murder Mujić, which is why the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica ordered the suspected juvenile to be detained for up to 30 days on October 9, at the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office.
On October 21, the Court of Appeal - Juvenile Chamber issued a decision rejecting as unfounded the appeal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, filed against the decision of the Higher Court in Podgorica - Juvenile Chamber of October 1.
The Higher Court's decision rejected the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office to order detention for minor A. K., who is suspected of attempting to murder Daris Mujić, a student at the "Niko Rolović" Gymnasium in Bar, and AK was released after nine days to defend himself from prison.
Due to this decision of the Court of Appeal, two protests were held in Bar last October, which sharply criticized the judicial authorities in this case. Among other things, the organizers, including the Mujić family, demanded stricter sentences for minors who committed criminal acts.
