National Security Agency (ANB) officer Filip Đuranović was questioned today in an investigation formed against a criminal organization headed by Aleksandar Mijajlović, according to special prosecutors.
According to Vijesti, Đuranović was detained by the ANB, and during interrogation his mobile phone was taken away.
After giving his statement, he was not detained.
Đuranović was publicly accused by former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović of being the administrator of the Udar portal, which, ahead of the 2020 parliamentary elections, targeted political opponents of the then-government of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
Television Vijesti announced in June that Đuranović had been promoted as part of personnel changes in the secret police.
Businessman Aleksandar Mijajlović allegedly created a media network for years solely in order to deal with dissenters from the political and security leadership and the church, through loyal journalists and media platforms, but also to influence the political and security situation in the country.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office suspects that Mijajlović was directly assisted in this by the suspected high-ranking police and secret service officials Drago Spičanović, Milovan Pavicevic and Vladan Lazović, as well as his cousin, prosecutor Andrijana Nastić, who provided him with classified intelligence and information.
The organizer of the criminal group, as suspected by the SDT, received data obtained through secret surveillance measures, the content of numerous intercepted conversations, and allegedly had access to intelligence data and recordings from the National Security Agency (ANB) for years on a daily basis from the accused members.
The investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica ordered the detention of businessmen Mijajlović and Spičanović. The accused police officers Milovan Pavićević and Vladan Lazović were ordered to house arrest, while Senior State Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic had her passport confiscated and is required to report to the police. The five of them were arrested on Friday, October 3.
As part of the investigation against the criminal group, which, according to the prosecution, was organized by Mijajlović, former Defense Minister Predrag Bošković was arrested on October 6th, and was released on October 7th to defend himself.
