The Berane police have filed criminal charges against AD from Podgorica and Đ.D. from Berane on suspicion of illegally building in the Biogradska Gora National Park (NP), the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'North', Berane Security Department, in accordance with planned activities and in accordance with national priorities for the protection of nature and the environment, have undertaken activities in the fight against environmental and economic crime and filed criminal charges against persons for illegal construction in the national park zone," the statement said.
The UP added that it is suspected that AD committed the criminal offense of constructing a structure without registration and construction documentation by building a weekend house and two bungalows in the Biogradska Gora National Park - Bjelasica Mountain - Šiška area in 2021.
"Also, Đ.D. is charged with the same criminal offense, which he is suspected of committing by building a weekend house in the same area in June 2025," the UP statement said.
