Police arrested lawyer Damir Lekić and archivist at the Basic Court in Podgorica Ž. R. for, as announced by the Police Directorate, disturbing public order and peace on the court premises and disrespecting an official.
"DL and Ž. R. are suspected of having verbally and physically fought each other today at around 12 noon in the lobby of the Basic Court in Podgorica. The attack was witnessed by a police officer present, who was engaged in security work at the Basic Court, who warned the individuals several times and then issued an order to stop such behavior, to which they ignored and continued insulting and pushing," the Police Directorate announced.
It is added that the police officer brought the lawyer and the archivist to the premises of the Podgorica Security Department for further action.
"The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the event, who assessed that there were no elements of a criminal offense in the aforementioned event. Officers of the Podgorica Security Department assessed that the actions of DL and Ž. R. constituted elements of a misdemeanor, which is why these persons were deprived of their liberty for committing violations under Articles 10 and 11 of the Law on Public Order and Peace," the police announced.
