Podgorica police arrested twenty-year-old Marko Marašević and found a gun with 12 rounds of ammunition.
As announced by the Police Directorate, their officers in Podgorica, as part of activities aimed at strengthening control of members of organized crime groups, persons of operational interest and those associated with them, and the catering establishments in which they stay, conducted a control of a catering establishment on Serdara Jola Piletića Street.
The police state that, in addition to Marašević, the controlled and operationally interesting persons are Vladimir Jovović (38), Marko Jovović (33), Stefan Pivljanin (25) and a person close to them, S. Dž. (27).
According to police data, these are members of the Podgorica cell of the Skaljar clan.
"On this occasion, the police found a bag containing a firearm - a CZ model M75 9 mm caliber pistol, which contained 12 rounds of ammunition. The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the incident, upon whose order information was collected from the above-mentioned persons for the record and further measures and actions within the jurisdiction of the police were taken," the statement reads.
It is added that the acting basic state prosecutor was informed of everything and stated that MM's actions constitute the elements of the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, for which he was deprived of his liberty.
With the criminal report, MM will be brought before the acting prosecutor for further jurisdiction.
"Members of the Police Directorate will continue with intensive activities within their jurisdiction in the coming period, in cooperation and consultation with the competent prosecutor's offices, with the aim of improving the security situation in the country and protecting the interests of all citizens," the police statement reads.
