The Podgorica Misdemeanor Court sentenced NK to a suspended sentence for domestic violence, after it was determined that he verbally and physically attacked his wife in the presence of a minor child.
According to the verdict, on October 10, 2025, he attacked his wife in the family apartment in Podgorica.
The defendant then insulted his wife and called her derogatory names, and then, as alleged, used physical force - first he pushed her in the area of her body with his chest, and then grabbed her by the neck with his hands, causing her to fall to the floor.
"The court found NK guilty of a misdemeanor under Article 36 of the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, and sentenced him to 60 days in prison. The sentence will not be enforced if he does not commit a new misdemeanor within one year from the date the verdict becomes final," said judge Ana Bokan, spokesperson for the Misdemeanor Court.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the defendant was also given protective measures - removal from the shared apartment and a three-month ban on approaching the injured party, due to the risk of repeated violence.
