NM (26) from Budva will be charged with a misdemeanor after cocaine was found in his possession.
Last night, police in that city, carrying out "increased activities aimed at members of organized crime groups, persons of operational interest and those connected to them", conducted a targeted control of a catering facility in that city.
"Nine persons were checked, two of whom were of operational interest - LJ (30) and PS (29) from Budva. During the check of NM (26), also from Budva, two small packages containing a substance suspected of being the narcotic drug cocaine were found," the Police Directorate announced.
The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica stated that there are no elements of a criminal offense in NM's actions, but that a misdemeanor charge will be filed against him for a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
"Officers of the Police Directorate continue intensive activities within their jurisdiction, directed predominantly towards these categories of persons, in order to maintain a stable security environment in the country," the statement reads.
