Thirty-seven-year-old Aleksandar Vukićević, for whom an international arrest warrant has been issued, was arrested in Zeta, in a coordinated police operation, the security institution announced.
The Police Directorate states that Vukićević is a member of an organized criminal group.
They explained that officers from the Podgorica Security Department and the Crime Prevention Sector, tonight in Zeta, after months of thorough planning, targeted search and operational work, located and "in a tactically precise action, deprived of liberty a person of operational interest AV (37), a member of an organized criminal group, for whom an international arrest warrant has been issued for the criminal offense of criminal association."
"Through proactive measures and actions in the implementation of this activity, the Police Directorate identified a strong logistical network that provided support to person AV in terms of hiding and movement. The Police Directorate has operational knowledge of other related persons and continues to take measures and actions aimed at breaking up the network of support for members of organized crime groups," the UP said.
Vukićević has been arrested several times. Late last year, police suspected him of being part of a criminal group responsible for criminal association, aggravated theft and concealment.
