Fire extinguished in a shop in Herceg Novi owned by Turkish citizens

In the Old Town of Herceg Novi last night at around 2 a.m., a fire broke out in a souvenir shop, which was extinguished 20 minutes later, Zlatko Ćirović, commander of the Protection and Rescue Service of that municipality, told TV Vijesti.

The owner of the souvenir shop is a Turkish citizen who was not in Montenegro when the fire broke out, police told "Vijesti".

The prosecutor has been informed of the event, and an expert for fires, explosions and accidents will be hired to conduct an on-site investigation.

The fire did not cause any damage to surrounding buildings.

Shops and bars owned by Turkish citizens have been targeted by attacks in Podgorica and Bar in the past two days, following the wounding of a Podgorica resident on Sunday evening, in which, according to the Police Directorate, citizens of Azerbaijan and Turkey participated.
