Police in Herceg Novi arrested persons of operational interest DT (42) and SD (40) after searching their apartments and finding marijuana.
The police suspect that DT is the owner of five kilograms of marijuana that was found in a bag in the immediate vicinity of a building in the Savina neighborhood on October 28th, and in the apartment that this person of operational interest uses, about 20 grams of marijuana were found in today's search.
"The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the entire incident, on whose order DT was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs," the police said.
A search of the apartment and other premises used by SD found a small amount of a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana, the police announced.
A misdemeanor charge was filed against SD for violations of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
"Officers of the Police Directorate continue their intensive activities and decisive fight against drugs, providing an institutional response to all identified security threats by implementing coordinated activities with a focus on combating drug abuse, controlling persons of operational interest and those associated with them, as well as other actions within their jurisdiction with the aim of combating all forms of crime and misdemeanors," the police statement concluded.
