Police are searching for two Azerbaijani citizens suspected of using knives in an incident on Saturday evening in the Podgorica neighborhood of Zabjelo, when 25-year-old MJ was injured in a fight between our citizens and foreign citizens.

As Televizija Vijesti has learned unofficially, the Police Directorate knows the identities of the two Azerbaijanis and is working to locate and arrest them, as well as to find the other participants in the fight.

Previously, the investigating judge of the Podgorica High Court released from custody one Azerbaijani and one Turkish citizen each, who were suspected of attempting to kill MJ. They were sent to custody based on the testimony of the injured Zabjelovar resident and identification, which was conducted by the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica.

That prosecutor's office then submitted the case for evaluation to the Higher Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica.

The suspects, however, denied the charges and their defense was later confirmed by video surveillance footage that established that they were in their accommodation during the incident, so they were acquitted at the proposal of the Higher Prosecutor's Office.

On the other hand, the Prosecutor's Office is still examining the video footage of the incident in Zabjelo to determine whether one of our citizens who participated in the fight was holding a knife in his hand. According to the assessment of the Prosecutor's Office and medical experts, MJ suffered minor injuries in the incident, namely six cuts and one stab wound.
