The Podgorica Misdemeanor Court fined 17 drivers a total of 7.950 euros yesterday for traffic violations.
This was told to "Vijesti" by Judge Ana Bokan, spokesperson for the Court for Minor Offences in Podgorica.
The court fined five people a total of 1.650 euros for driving over the speed limit.
Nine people were fined a total of 3.900 euros, eight of whom drove with one to two per mille of alcohol in their system, while one person drove with more than two per mille of alcohol in their system.
The Podgorica Misdemeanor Court also fined two people a total of 1.800 euros for refusing to be tested for the presence of drugs in their bodies as drivers, while the Court fined one person 600 euros for refusing to be tested for the presence of alcohol in their bodies as drivers.
"In the same decisions, the defendants were imposed penalty points and a protective measure of a ban on driving a motor vehicle, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Misdemeanors and the Law on Road Traffic Safety, and the type and amount of the imposed fines were determined according to previously established mitigating and aggravating circumstances on the part of the defendants, with the court attaching the greatest importance when determining the sentence to previous convictions for the same type of offense," Bokan stated.
