Detention extended for three Serbian citizens on suspicion of attempting to kill Azerbaijani citizens in Ulcinj

The Supreme Court Council extended the detention of Serbian citizens Tarik Mujković, Emir Crnovršanin and Admir Kačar until December 7.

This was announced today by the Supreme Court.

Mujković, Crnovršanin and Kačar are suspected of attempting to kill two Azerbaijani citizens in Ulcinj on June 6th.

"The Council of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, deciding on the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro dated October 27, 2025, to extend the detention of the defendants TM, EC and AK, has issued a decision to extend the detention of the defendants for another month, i.e. until December 07, 2025," the statement said.

The Supreme Court said that the defendants' detention was extended due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of attempted aggravated murder.

"TM, EC and AK are charged with having attempted to kill Azerbaijani citizens AX and M. A on June 6 of this year in Ulcinj, together and by prior agreement, by attacking them with knives and inflicting multiple stab wounds on their chests, resulting in life-threatening injuries," it is emphasized.

The detention was reportedly extended due to the risk of flight.

"In issuing the decision to extend the detention, the Supreme Court took into account the gravity of the criminal offense and the amount of the threatened sentence, the fact that the defendants are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, young people and unemployed, as well as the fact that they do not have strong and permanent ties to Montenegro, which leads to the conclusion that they have developed contacts abroad, from whom they can request and receive assistance in escaping and hiding," the statement reads.

The Supreme Court added that the defendants' detention was initially ordered by a decision of the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica dated June 8, then extended by a decision of the Criminal Chamber of that court dated July 4, and by a decision of the Supreme Court dated September 2, so that, according to this decision of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, detention may last until December 7, 2025.
