Mojkovac resident Ivan Baltić (40), a traffic police officer with the Mojkovac Security Department (OB), was killed today at around 1:30 p.m. in a traffic accident on the Bijelo Polje - Mojkovac main road, in the town of Ravna rijeka.
He was driving a Volkswagen Polo with Mojkovac license plates.
The driver of the second, cargo vehicle, with which Baltić collided is Serbian citizen Đ. L.
Traffic is disrupted on that section of the road, and an investigation is underway.
The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) told "Vijesti" that the driver of the passenger vehicle "VW Polo" Baltić, who was injured, was driving the vehicle from the direction of Bijelo Polje towards Mojkovac, while the driver of the "Man" LD truck with a trailer was driving from the opposite direction.
"The accident occurred in the town of Ravna Rijeka on the left lane of the road as seen from the direction of Bijelo Polje. After the traces from the scene and other evidence collected will be determined, the cause of the accident will be determined," said the ODT. The on-duty prosecutor conducted the investigation in the presence of traffic experts, mechanical experts and authorized police officers of the Bijelo Polje Police Directorate.
