UP: It has been established that Radonjić attacked Rašović, the prosecutor has requested that criminal charges be filed against him

The Police Directorate (UP) announced today that it has been determined that the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) councilor in the Zeta Municipal Assembly (SO) Dušan Radonjić physically attacked the president of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) councilors' club in the Zeta Municipal Assembly Vesko Rašović, hitting him in the head and body.

The statement also states that the prosecutor stated that Radonjić's actions contain elements of the criminal offense of violent behavior in conjunction with the criminal offense of serious bodily injury, and that criminal charges should be filed against him in regular proceedings.

"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'Centar', Podgorica Security Department, acted yesterday in relation to a report by VR, a councilor in the Zeta Municipal Assembly, who stated that he was physically attacked by councilor DR, while they were in the official premises of the Zeta Municipal Assembly. On this occasion, VR suffered minor physical injuries, while the witness to the event suffered serious physical injuries in the form of fractures of two fingers," the statement states.

The Police Department added that statements were collected from Rašović and Radonjić, as well as from witnesses to the event, for the record by order of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, who was informed about the event.

"It was determined that DR physically attacked VR, hitting him in the head and body, which resulted in the witness being injured in a way that the door to the room where the perpetrators of the incident were located crushed her fist due to the pushing of these individuals, and on that occasion she sustained injuries to two fingers. After reviewing the case files, the acting prosecutor stated that the actions of DR constituted elements of the criminal offense of violent behavior in conjunction with the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm, and that criminal charges should be filed against this person in the regular procedure," the statement reads.

The coalition "For the Future of Zeta" called yesterday for Radonjić to be detained, stating that he "bloodily beat" Rašović, and that the head of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) councilors' club, Anastasija Damjanović, was also injured during the separation.

Radonjić told "Vijesti" yesterday that the allegations made by the "For the Future of Zeta" coalition - that he attacked representatives of that alliance in the premises of the local parliament - are untrue.

He confirmed to "Vijesti" yesterday that an incident had occurred in the office of the mayor's office, but did not want to discuss the details of the event, stating that the case would have a court outcome.

Rašović told Vijesti yesterday that he expects the competent authorities to protect him so that he can continue to do what the "people elected" him to do, adding that he expects Radonjić to be arrested.
