Criminal charges have been filed against Belgian citizen DH (40) on suspicion of forging license plates on a car, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that police officers from the Mobile Unit of the Regional Border Police Center "North" last night, in the town of Zaton in Bijelo Polje, checked an "Audi" passenger motor vehicle with Belgian license plates driven by DH.
"A detailed inspection conducted in cooperation with Frontex officers established that the license plates did not have the protective elements that are present on valid license plates. Therefore, it was determined that the aforementioned license plates were forged, and a statement was collected from DH for the record, where this person stated that he had made a copy of the license plates for a certain amount of money, placed them on his vehicle and used them as real ones," the statement states.
The UP said that the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was informed of the incident and stated that DH's actions constitute elements of the criminal offense of forgery of a document.
"A criminal complaint was filed against this person in regular proceedings, at the prosecutor's order," the UP said.
